and Elizabeth Catoe Bird, died Tuesday after a brief illness in his home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p. m. from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church by the Revs.

Africans Will Not Press For New Action UNITED NATIONS, N.Y, (AP) -The African group in the United Nations Tuesday decided not to press now for any Security Council action against South Africa in an attempt to gain entry for a special U.N. inquiry group to South West Africa. Local Firms Get Job to Print Driver's Book Bidding jointly on what is perhaps the largest individual print ing project of the state government, the Drivers Handbook, State Commercial Printing Company and R. L. Bryan Company, both of Columbia, submitted, the lowest three proposals 8 and were awarded the contract. Total cost of the State Highway Department project, providing for 200,000 copies of the five-color handbook, will run to $32,200 or just over 16 cents per copy. Each copy has 100 pages.

Dentsville FHA Ends Leadership Workshop Officers of the Dentsville Future Homemakers of America Chapter completed their Leadership Training Workshop on Tuesday. The Workshop was held in the Home Economics Department of Dentsville School under the direction of Gladys Young, High, home economics teacher and the chapter's president, Sandra Anderson. Other officers. attending were vice president, Carolyn Berry; secretary, Teresa Helms; treasurer, Patricia Loging; reporter, Linda Bowen; and activities directors, Linda Lee Nance and Judy Crosland. The group gained information on duties and responsibilities of each officer and completed their yearbook with program plans for the coming year.
