Mitchell of Dedham who died yesterday in Norwood Hospital, Norwood, after a brief illness. He was 82. Mr. Mitchell was the owner of Mitchell's Limousine Service in Dedham and had been in the transportation business all his life. His father opened a livery service to the town's railroad station and from there the business grew.

In 1918 the elder Mitchell switched from horse and buggy to Model T's and later added limousines. Also that year, the younger. Mitchell joined his father's business and had been there ever since. Mr. Mitchell recalled those early days in a 1974 Dedham Transcript article.

"We had a heck of a time getting the cars started before they had the automatic starters. In those days they also didn't have any snow plows and one storm would just pile up on another and the snow would get higher and higher But I love this work, for one thing we knew everyone that would be coming in and out of town I have come to know many of the families in the town and still serve some of them." A. lifelong resident of Dedham, Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Society in Dedham for the Apprehending of Horse Thieves. He leaves three sons, Thomas R.

Jr. and John both of Dedham, and Lawrence F. Mitchell of Framingham; and six grandchildren. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Dorothy C.

Dow, 80 Lived in Melrose and Rockport SARASOTA, Fla. Dorothy Cushing Dow died Sept. 14 in Memorial Hospital here. She was 80. Born in Boston, she was graduated from the Child-Walker School of Art, Boston, with honors in design.

She was a life member of Phi Theta Psi sorority, a member of the Sarasota chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Sarasota Unitarian Church. Mrs. Dow had lived in Sarasota for the last 23 years and had previously lived in Melrose, and Rockport, Mass. She leaves her husband, Paul C. Dow; two sons, Paul C.

BAILEY 1959 photo David W. Bailey, 69 Was headmaster of Vt. school WOODSTOCK, Vt. David W. Bailey, retired headmaster of the Woodstock Country School, here died Monday in the Mary Hitchco*ck Memorial Hospital.

He was 69. Born in Boston, Mr. Bailey was a graduate of the Shady Hill School, Cambridge, the Belmont School, Belmont, a 1934 graduate of Harvard University and a 1935 graduate of Black Mountain College, North Carolina. Mr. Bailey began his teaching career the Miquon School in Pennsylvania, where he taught for three years.

He then worked as a public relations representative for Black Mountain College, and taught at the Foote School in New Haven and the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. In 1945, he cofounded the Woodstock Country School. The school was later moved to South Woodstock. From 1947- 1967, Mr. Bailey served as headmaster.

Mr. Bailey was a former Democratic party chairman for Windsor County in Vermont and a member of the Woodstock Rotary Club. He leaves his wife, Hilda (Loram); a son, Peter Bailey of Dallas; and two grandsons. Funeral services were private. John Richardson Retired Boston banker, 77 TAVARES, Fla.

John A.W. Richardson, formerly of Boston, died Monday in his home here after a long illness. He was 77. Mr. Richardson was a retired vice president of the First National Bank of Boston and was a former president of the Bank of Boston Trust Company Nassau, Bahamas.

Mr. Richardson was also a lawyer and was a member of the New York and Massachusetts state bar associations. A 32d degree mason, Mr. Richardson was a member of the Columbia Lodge of Masons 4682, Buenos Aires, the Grand Lodge of England of the Southern District of South America Blue Lodge, the Mount Dora Lodge of Masons 238, Mount Dora, the Massachusetts Consistory Valley of Boston, the Bahia Shrine Temple, Orlando, and the Lake County Shrine Club, Lake County. Born in Chicago, Mr.

Richardson had lived in Boston and Nassau before moving to Tavares 12 years ago. He leaves his wife, Anna (Hager); a son, John A.W. Richardson Jr. of Newton, N.J.; a daughter, Elizabeth Mansfield of Douglaston, N.Y.: and seven grandchildren. Masonic funeral services will be held this morning in Mount Dora.
